Tauriko School, Tauranga
Tauriko School in Tauranga is slowly renovating old classroom blocks to create more flexible teaching spaces that will enable staff and students to work more collaboratively together. We caught up with Principal Suzanne Billington and asked her a few questions about her school’s class* experience:
What made you decide to go with class*?
We really wanted to provide classroom equipment and furniture in these spaces that would be both attractive and support the types of spaces, teaching and learning we are trying to achieve. That meant we needed a range of different that offered different heights – low, medium and high – as well as provided for collaborative group, paired and individual learning options.
class* provided us with so many options to help achieve this! Their furniture is also bright and attractive, which meant we were able to create fun, engaging learning environments for our students.
So you got the end result you were after?
Oh definitely! Our teachers love the bright environments the furniture has supported us to create. They also love their new ability to use the same items of furniture in a range of different ways. From the students’ point of view, the furniture supports them to learn in a variety of different ways according to their needs and learning goals at the time. It really has been an all-round success for our school.
